How much does it cost to ship a car?
Price depends on distance, vehicle size and weight, open or enclosed transport, whether the vehicle runs, the time of year, and how flexible your dates are. Request a free quote and you’ll get a price for your exact route and vehicle.
How long does car shipping take?
It depends on distance and carrier availability. We’ll give you a pickup window when you book and keep you updated along the way.
What’s the difference between open and enclosed transport?
Open transport is the most affordable and common option; your car rides on an open carrier like the ones that deliver new cars to dealers. Enclosed transport keeps your car inside a closed trailer, protected from weather and road debris, and is recommended for luxury, exotic and classic vehicles.
Is my vehicle insured during transport?
Yes. Every carrier we dispatch carries its own cargo insurance, and All City Transport is named as a certificate holder on the carrier’s Certificate of Insurance to help protect your vehicle. Your car is inspected and photographed at pickup and delivery, and the condition is recorded on the bill of lading.
How do I pay?
You can pay in full when you book, by card or bank transfer, or pay a deposit when you book and the balance directly to the driver at delivery. Payment terms are confirmed in writing before pickup.
How should I prepare my vehicle?
- Wash it so the inspection is accurate, and take your own photos
- Remove personal items, toll tags and parking passes
- Leave about a quarter tank of fuel or less
- Disable alarms and note any leaks or mechanical issues
- Have one full set of keys ready for the driver
Can I pack personal items in my car?
We recommend removing them. Carriers’ insurance doesn’t cover personal belongings, and extra weight can affect the price.
Can you ship a car that doesn’t run?
Yes. Non-running vehicles need a carrier with specialized loading equipment, so they’re quoted individually. Let us know the vehicle doesn’t run when you request a quote.
Do I need to be there at pickup and delivery?
You or someone you trust needs to be there to hand over the keys, review the inspection, and sign the bill of lading.
How do I know who’s picking up my car?
Before pickup, we send you the carrier’s name, the driver’s name, and the truck and trailer plates. Check them at pickup, and don’t release your vehicle if anything doesn’t match. Call us right away at 971.249.2131.
Where do you ship?
We ship vehicles anywhere in the contiguous United States. We don’t currently ship to or from Alaska or Hawaii.
